Biography
Joseph N. Schimp is an Associate Attorney in Matthiesen, Wickert & Lehrer’s Hartford, Wisconsin office, where he advocates for insurers and self-insured entities in subrogation matters across the country. Joseph’s practice focuses on product liability and product recall, fire and casualty large loss property subrogation, and construction defect and warranty claims. Known for his analytical precision, strong legal writing, and thoughtful approach to advocacy, Joseph is licensed in Wisconsin and plays an active role in supporting clients throughout the subrogation and litigation process.
A graduate of Marquette University Law School, Joseph ranked second in his class and served as an editor of the Marquette University Law Review. His academic achievements and practical litigation experience make him a valuable asset to Matthiesen, Wickert & Lehrer, S.C. During law school, Joseph completed a judicial internship with Chief Judge Diane S. Sykes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, preparing bench memoranda and gaining firsthand insight into appellate decision-making. He also worked as a law clerk at a leading personal injury firm, where he drafted motions and briefs, conducted in-depth legal research, and assisted with trial preparation.
