Nancy A. Case
Nancy A. Case is an experienced insurance litigation attorney joining our Hartford office as a Senior Associate Attorney. Nancy’s practice areas include health insurance and ERISA subrogation, insurance litigation, and workers’ compensation. Nancy obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and Communications from the University of North Florida, Jacksonville, Florida and her Juris Doctor from Chicago Kent College of Law, Chicago, Illinois. Prior to joining MWL, Nancy was with the law firm of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. in Chicago, Illinois, with her primary practice being subrogation, including handling subrogation litigation for one of the largest multi-employer ERISA funds in Illinois. Nancy is licensed in both Wisconsin and Illinois and is a member of the Illinois Trial Bar. Nancy also practices Family Law and has recently begun practicing in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin as Guardian Ad Litem in the area of children in need of protection and services. Nancy is also an active member of the Sheboygan County Bar Association and will serve as its Secretary and Treasurer for its 2015/2016 term.
When Nancy isn’t litigating, drafting/revising ironclad subrogation provisions, or helping children and families in need, she spends time with her family and is often attending soccer, basketball, and baseball games, and this summer has added Junior Golf to the sports mix. Nancy is also actively involved with Kohler Schools having served as a School Board Member, Performing Arts Organization President, and currently with Kohler’s Soccer Club organization.
Alyssa A. Johnson
Alyssa A. Johnson is an insurance litigation attorney joining our Hartford office. Alyssa’s areas of practice include insurance litigation, subrogation, including automobile, property, workers’ compensation, health insurance and ERISA. Alyssa obtained her Bachelor of Arts of Political Science and double minor in English Writing and Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater in Whitewater, Wisconsin and her Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Prior to joining MWL, Alyssa was an associate attorney in Brookfield, Wisconsin, where she gained civil trial experience.
When Alyssa isn’t litigating, she enjoys running, biking, yoga, and cooking. She also spends time throughout the year raising money for her favorite charity, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Carolan D. Luning
Carolan D. Luning joins MWL as an insurance attorney. Carolan is licensed to practice in Louisiana and works out of our New Orleans branch office. Her areas of practice are insurance litigation, property subrogation, workers’ compensation, occupational accident, health insurance and ERISA. Carolan obtained her Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Carolan earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in Memphis, Tennessee where she received the Tennessee Supreme Court Law Student for Justice Pro Bono Service Award and Dean’s Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award. Prior to joining MWL, Carolan worked for Cincinnati Insurance Company in Cincinnati, Ohio as a Senior Underwriter for their Personal Lines Department and for Hub International in Chicago, Illinois as an Assistant Account Executive in their Professional Liability Department. Carolan was also a licensed property and casualty insurance agent in Illinois and Ohio prior to law school.
When Carolan isn’t recovering client’s subrogation dollars, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, running, golfing, sailing, and watching football.
Angela G. Pokorn
Also joining our New Orleans office is first-year subrogation attorney, Angela G. Pokorn. Angela recently took her Louisiana State Bar Exam and is expecting good news and a law license in October. Until then, Angela is providing support and undergoing the firm’s subrogation training program – which apparently is a breeze after studying for the bar. Angela is a graduate of and received her J.D. from Tulane Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate studies and received her B.A. from California State University Monterey Bay in Seaside, California. Angela has previously worked as a law clerk with Pelleteri & Wiedorn in New Orleans, Louisiana, a civil litigation firm focusing on complex tort litigation, personal injury litigation, and all civil litigation matters. She also served as law clerk to U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Jerry Brown in the Eastern District of Louisiana.
In what little spare time Angela has, she devotes it to camping, hiking, travelling, kayaking, and spending time with her family.
