Matthiesen, Wickert & Lehrer, S.C. (“MWL”) is very proud to announce that Jake Simon has joined our insurance litigation team as a litigating subrogation associate in our Hartford, Wisconsin office. Jake is a Badger and received his undergraduate degree at Temple University, majoring in Risk Management and Insurance. He received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he graduated in the top of his class and served as the Pro Bono Coordinator of the Society of Education Law and Policy.
Jake is not new to the firm. He worked as a law clerk in the Wisconsin office in 2018. Jake also worked as an Athletics Compliance Intern for University of Wisconsin-Madison Athletics. Finally, Jake served a Judicial Internship on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, where his time was spent writing bench memoranda and assisting in writing Supreme Court opinions.
Jake was born and raised in Dallas, Pennsylvania, which is in the Wilkes Barre/Scranton area. Explaining where he is from forced him to love The Office. In his free time, Jake enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Larisa, and his Maine Coon, Pita. Jake has always been a Packer and Badger fan, but his move to Wisconsin prompted a switch in fandom to the Brewers and Bucks. Jake’s passion is golf and he plays as much as life permits.
Jake will be handling insurance litigation out of our Wisconsin office, focusing on nationwide insurance subrogation involving health insurance, ERISA, occupational accident claims, workers’ compensation, fire and casualty, and automobile.
