Chris received his JD from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1997. He received his BA in History from Penn State University in 1994. After law school, Chris clerked for the Honorable Michael E. Loney of the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court in Annapolis, Maryland. Subsequently, Chris represented police officers throughout Maryland in a variety of civil and criminal defense matters until relocating to Wisconsin in 2000.

Since arriving in Wisconsin, Chris has maintained an active practice in insurance subrogation and defense matters specializing in large-fire loss matters in industrial, agricultural and residential settings. Chris represents numerous insurance carriers in subrogation and defense matters involving industrial accidents, farm implement accidents, large construction defect cases, lemon law and motor vehicle defect cases.

Chris also maintains an active practice in workers' compensation subrogation matters seeking the recovery of liens for insurance carriers in Wisconsin and nationwide. 
 
Chris began work as an associate attorney at Matthiesen, Wickert & Lehrer, S.C. in November 2003 and has actively litigated more than 250 cases. Chris has also supervised the resolution of countless other matters nationwide as well as in Maryland and Wisconsin.  In addition, Chris gives numerous seminars to insurance professionals around the country throughout the year. Topics of seminars include recognizing and investigating subrogation in large property loss cases, the economic loss doctrine, and advanced concepts in pursuing workers compensation subrogation.   

Clients represented by Chris include Acuity, Sentry Insurance Company, Badger Mutual Insurance Company, Pella Mutual Insurance Company, Wausau Stettin Mutual Insurance Company, General Casualty, American Family Insurance, West Bend Mutual Insurance Company, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and MiddleOak Insurance Company.   
Chris now makes his home in Germantown, Wisconsin with his wife Kelly, who works as a financial analyst with General Electric, and their two children, Mack and Ryan. 

Chris is a retired commissioned officer with the U.S. Army and Wisconsin Army National Guard after having concluded a successful twenty-year career in 2006.
